...in the photo, 72 year-old Fanny Banda (upper left hand corner) now has 14-orphaned grandchildren to care for. Though her cupboards are empty, the burden remains. This shouldn't be!
Because of AIDS and its heavy toll on the children of Zambia, the Bible Gospel Church in Africa (BIGOCA--an association of over two hundred churches overseen by Bishop Peter Ndhlovu) and Father's Heart have a program that encourages families to take orphans

in. Though this is a strain on what are already poor families, many are answering the call to defend the widow and homeless.
To help ease the suffering and burden on these families, the program supplies a 25 kg bag of grain to each of 500 households that are currently on the list. Workers from the churches then visit these families on a weekly basis to monitor how each household is doing, reporting back to their pastors. If there are any special needs, the churches try to help out.
The ability of BIGOCA to make provision for these needs is supplied primarily by the generous giving of Father's Heart partners. As we receive more funds, we will be able to help relieve more suffering.
