Safe drinking water is practically a guarantee for those living in the United States. But this is not the case in Zambia, where 80 percent of all infant mortality is caused simply by disease-laden water.
Hours are spent daily hauling water from a river contaminated by bacteria, often resulting in many infant deaths by cholera.
To make matters worse, the contaminated water also kills many adults, leaving numerous children orphaned and without care. Oftentimes, the reason for contaminated water is simply because the village well is in disrepair. Thus, a properly functioning well proves to literally be a lifesaver.
For $500, Father's Heart can employ a crew to repair these wells, providing clean drinking water for as many as 2,000 people. Babies, who would otherwise die, are given a chance at a healthy life. Please make a donation and contribute to providing safe drinking water for rural Zambia.
